Hearing Aids
Hearing aids are electronic device which helps people with hearing difficulty hear better. A digital hearing aid is made up of a microphone, an amplifier and a receiver. Hearing aid picks up the environmental sounds through microphone and amplifier makes the sound loud enough before it transmits to the receiver to be heard by person.
Hearing aids comes in different shapes, sizes, style and technology. Audiologist and user can decide together which hearing aid can be suitable for person with hearing difficulty.
Body level Hearing aid
These hearing aids consist a box and which can clipped in front pocket or on cloth. A cord is attached to hearing aid transmits the sound to the receiver. The receiver is attached to a ear piece/ear mould which holds in place.
Behind the Ear (BTE)
BTE hearing aid is worn behind the ear over the pinna. The hearing aid picks up sound, amplifies it and carries the amplified sound to an ear mold that fits inside your ear canal. This style of hearing aid is most widely worn.
